Week Six Power Rankings

There will be no undefeated team this year, as Brett Favre's Crocs got absolutely crushed by The Cyber Police this weekend. While it is sad to see a run at perfection spoiled, it does open the door for a more competitive division and league. The week, as a whole, was quite boring with most of the games being significant blowouts but one bright spot was You Dun Goofed pulling out a Monday night win on the back of WR Percy Harvin over Matt Ruud's LaunchPad McQuack.

Let us all hope for better competition this week, and hopefully the new Power Rankings will get you prepared for your matchup!

WEEK SIX POWER RANKINGS

01. The Cyber Police (4-1)

Every team has their good and bad weeks, and this last week was a really good one. Back on top after two weeks behind Brett Favre's Crocs, I believe that The Cyber Police should get really comfortable. They don't really have any games that worry them until week eight where they are decimated by bye weeks and the last week of the season when Team Minch is rolling out a full and able squad. I think you are looking at your number one seed in the playoffs already.

02. Brett Favre's Crocs (4-1)

Brett Favre's Crocs deserve a round of applause for their fantastic run at an impossible record. Now, lets all just stare blankly at the abysmal performance his players put up over the weekend. Weeks like that don't come around to often for a team of that caliber, so owner Nick Votto doesn't need to fret much about such lowly output. The master of the waiver wire did not execute well against the number one team in the league, and for that I must shrug my shoulders and say "meh." Nick Votto's team is still one of the best in the FYCL, and one that shouldn't be taken lightly even after such a poor showing.

03. Team Minch (3-2)

This is a team that could have easily been 4-1, but with a close loss against Brett Favre's Crocs, they now sit at 3-2 after a win this week. Team Minch has been up and down throughout the season, but owner Alex Minch has setup his team for a big run this year. Some early stumbles have only emboldened the young owner and now his team looks poised for a serious playoff run. Team Minch is a squad to be feared on gameday, and one that all teams should look out for.

04. One Team One Cup (4-1)

It is never pretty, and it is never easy but One Team One Cup has somehow managed to pull out four wins in the early part of the season. A lot has to do with luck as this was a preseason team that was ranked in the bottom half. All I can say is that they just need to continue to do the voodoo that they practice because it seems to be working. I just think that the latter part of 1T1C's schedule will prove to be their humbling moment.

05. RingRing Hooka RingRing (3-2)

Christina Ruud's roster is frustrating to an extent. You look at them and think that this isn't a team that should be regularly producing, but they are. Then one week you see a lopsided matchup against an undersized team, and they put up mediocre numbers. Trying to predict RRHRR wins and losses is quite tough - no better chance than flipping a coin. She got her huge rival win two weeks ago, but then dropped a pedestrian game to One Team One Cup. I think I'm starting to see shades of the 2009-2010 season all over again in Ruud's squad.

06. You Dun Goofed (3-2)

You Dun Goofed has supplied the league with two great matches in the past two weeks, both resulting in important wins in this fantasy season. Seemingly all the players that ran on the field contributed to their winning effort, but none more significant than WR Percy Harvin. The fear that WR Randy Moss would eat into Harvin's touches and touchdowns seemed to not phase QB Brett Favre as he delivered two scores for Harvin in a losing game against the New York Jets. You Dun Goofed as a tough matchup next week against Team McLaughlin, so I wouldn't bet on a close win for three weeks in a row.

07. Team McLaughlin (2-3)

That first-round pick of RB Chris Johnson finally paid off, as he anchored Team McLaughlin's close win over the surging Pauls Freudian Trip in Week Five. Now coming off of two consecutive wins, McLaughlin now must take aim at the suddenly productive You Dun Goofed, and advantageous for him, he doesn't have to worry much about bye weeks. Look for a big win in many ways for Team McLaughlin in Week Six.

08. LaunchPad McQuack (2-3)

Ouch...seeing your team fall in the last game at the hands of a single player must have been an awful thing to witness. Lucky for his opponent, You Dun Goofed, it was one of the best nights of his entire year. While this low ranking of LaunchPad McQuack doesn't justify the stellar weeks he has put in, I think it is in preparation for a significant downward trend that I see coming the team's way. LPMQ has a good roster, but doesn't have the consistency one needs to be a top-tier team this year. Expect another loss this week - only bigger - as Matt Ruud's team goes up against the best team in the league, Justin Ferrari's The Cyber Police.

09. Beauty and the Miller (1-4)

I said this last week: "Beauty and the Miller's welcome in the top-half of the Power Rankings will be exhausted if they lose this week against Flashin' The Big Ben." Well, here you are owner Shaggy Miller: number nine. I can't help but laugh at the bad luck that Miller seems to have week in and week out, but now it is time to buckle down and make that run to the top. His next string of opponents aren't as tough as his first couple of weeks, so if he wants to sit pretty in the playoffs, some expert roster moves are in order.

10. Pauls Freudian Trip (1-4)

I was personally on hand with owner Paul Votto as he saw his team practically fall to Team McLaughlin at the hands of two late RB Chris Johnson touchdowns. It was indeed a terrible chain of events for Pauls Freudian Trip, but there is plenty of upside to his squad. They played near the top of total points for the league and now even his bench is starting to show signs of life. While I don't think he'll pull out a win next week against the rejuvenated Flashin' The Big Ben, I can at least say that I'm not as concerned with the direction of Votto's team as I was a couple of weeks ago.

11. Flashin' The Big Ben (2-3)

I will have to say that last week's judgement I threw down on Charlie Tritschler and his Flashin' The Big Ben squad was as wrong as wrong can be. I have to apologize for underestimating a squad that not only came to play against the now anemic Beauty and the Miller, but absolutely crushed them. His pick of WR Roy E. Williams was a stroke of genius that no other owner could bring themselves to execute, so that combo of Williams and QB Tony Romo buoyed his team straight through Sunday night. Next week he has Pauls Freudian Trip, which can really go either way but I predict he will handedly take care of the competition on his way back up the standings.

12. Rob's Team (1-4)

Here we are again - Rob's Team in the basement of the standings and now the Power Rankings. As I said last week, owner Rob Pakulski's in a real bind right now as he doesn't have consistency in all aspects of his game. He's got some standouts but not ones that can carry an entire squad. I don't expect him to be out of the bottom for a while, if not for the whole season, if he doesn't start being a little more proactive with his front office duties.

Week Five Power Rankings

Well, no 2008 Detroit Lions in FYC Fantasy Football this year, but there is an outside chance for a 1972 Miami Dolphins performance. Brett Favre's Crocs remains unbeaten while Pauls Freudian Trip and Team McLaughlin secure their first wins. Last week was arguably the most exciting week in the past two years, so let us hope for more of the same this week.

I know why you are here and let's just get right to it...Week Five Power Rankings!

WEEK FIVE POWER RANKINGS

01. Brett Favre's Crocs (4-0)

An unbelievable start for the squad that will for now be labeled "The Team To Beat" in this postseason, I cannot say enough good things about owner Nick Votto's early play of the trade game and continual mastery of the waiver wire. His next big test is Justin Ferrari's The Cyber Police, but if he can overcome Ferrari's roster, I think 6-0 is not an impossibility with Votto's next real challenge coming in the form of RingRing Hooka RingRing.

02. The Cyber Police (3-1)

As predicted, The Cyber Police's numbers continued their downward spiral, but only this time it was enough for Pauls Freudian Trip to grab their first win. Owner Justin Ferrari cannot be happy about his finish in Week Four, but with a favorable bye schedule in the next couple of weeks, I think he's got one of the better upsides in the league. Don't expect this trend to continue - The Cyber Police will be near the top after Week Twelve.

03. RingRing Hooka RingRing (3-1)

Quietly making moves and becoming a crafty game-day strategist, Christina Ruud (owner of RingRing Hooka RingRing) is becoming Division Two's lone star team. With everyone else middling, RRHRR is right there with the likes of The Cyber Police and Brett Favre's Crocs - consistent teams that pump out consistent numbers. Her win over rival LaunchPad McQuack not only cemented her as a force to be reckoned with, but also boosted her fantasy stock a bit. Ruud's squad last year (Team Sparkle) had a great first half before falling apart all the way into the playoffs, so can Christina right the ship this time around? I bet on yes.

04. Team Minch (2-2)

It was a valiant effort and one that I think Brett Favre's Crocs need to cherish and thank the Football gods for. Minch almost pulled off the upset with the help of a dominant and historic performance by the D/ST of the New England Patriots, but in the end he sits at .500 and in the middle of the pack. Alex Minch's team has a great matchup on paper today, but Rob's Team is a slippery bunch, so expect there to be some resistance on Minch's road to a winning record.

05. Beauty and the Miller (1-3)

Beauty and the Miller's welcome in the top-half of the Power Rankings will be exhausted if they lose this week against Flashin' The Big Ben. It has been a tragic start of the season as Shaggy Miller's team has lost by single-digit margins in two of his three losses while amassing one of the highest points-for totals. His consistency is only outpaced by his opponent's luck, but I still think that a ninety-percent Beauty and the Miller is better than most of the teams in the FYCL.

06. One Team One Cup (3-1)

It is easy to say that One Team One Cup's wins were flukes. I mean look at that win last week, close but so low scoring. 1T1C cannot seem to muster up that many points, but sometimes Power Rankings isn't just about points and the wins that this team is pulling out are close but they are wins nonetheless. Just as there is justification for a losing team to be in the top half of the Rankings, there needs to be 3-1 teams there too.

07. LaunchPad McQuack (2-2)

I predicted it correctly: it was a great game...for Christina Ruud. LaunchPad McQuack's loss in Week Four to his wife is not embarrassing as both were worthy opponents, but it is definitely a hard swallow for a team that looked bound for the top of the Rankings after some good performances. Matt Ruud needs to start moving some players around in order to stay competitive because he has a tough schedule ahead of him.

08. You Dun Goofed (2-2)

You gotta love a close game like last week's win against Beauty and the Miller. Devastated by bye week players, this was You Dun Goofed's hardest week until he is killed by Week Ten's bye week for the Green Bay Packers. High-scoring games weren't always in the cards for You Dun Goofed, but last week showed that they can throw up respectable numbers with some of their core receivers not producing.

09. Pauls Freudian Trip (1-3)

At last, the first win. Getting over that hump is something other owners know a little about (Michael Votto's team last year, Argh! Not The Bees!), and now that Paul Votto's team has conquered that demon, it is time to play some serious football. Without the pressure of overcoming that stigma of one of the only teams without a win, maybe this will open Paul up to playing around with the waiver wire or trading some underperforming players for one solid one. Pauls Freudian Trip's season just got a little interesting.

10. Team McLaughlin (1-3)

The win over Team Minch in Week Four was an important first step in the resurrection of a team that was crowned the best of the draft. The win was as significant as Paul Votto's win over The Cyber Police because both them and Team Minch were opponents on the rise. These moral and statistical victories should provide a boost to Glen McLaughlin's front office, and you'll see two of the best underdog teams go up against each other in Week Five.

11. Rob's Team (1-3)

Rob Pakulski's team seems to always be coming up short in their matches, and their record does not seem to exude what this squad is capable of. With three losses already on the season, Rob needs to start making some serious moves. He's got a lot of depth in the WR position, so maybe trading for a healthy RB is in his future. Perhaps his star WR Randy Moss will find his new digs in Minnesota to be advantageous, which would be a win for both player and owner. We'll know more after Week Five's Monday Night Football game.

12. Flashin' The Big Ben (1-3)

Phew - I can smell a stinker from a mile away, and Flashin' The Big Ben is toxic. Right now anyway. Some of his biggest and best players are nursing nagging injuries (WR Andre Johnson and RB LeSean McCoy), which has resulted in less than stellar start for one of the newer teams in the league. Until his players can get back to at least 95%, owner Charlie Tritschler should think about trading away some stars on his team just to get some consistency back in all positions.
